New Horizons

Well it’s rented but I guess it’s “mine”.

I’m sat in an armchair in my new home. A different town, a different country. This is, actually, the first time that I’ve ever lived by myself. I’m hoping to start work fairly soon, although the job that I have my eye on doesn’t become available until August, by the look of things. I have sufficient funds to keep myself until then, as long as I don’t do anything stupid.

I have a few stories to tell about my journey over but for now, I’m here, I’m well and I’m settling in.

home sweet home

it's yours now - and I wish you the very best of luck and love in it!

courage (spoken in a French accent) dear Greg. . . if the days are long and the nights longer, take each in a very small chunk - hour by hour, or even minute by minute. . .

. . .all the minutes and hours add up and in a while you'll be settling in and settling down

and don't just sit in - go out! walk about! have a coffee in a bookshop (if there is one), read a paper on a new bench, admire the view, breathe in the air, send postcards to the friends who love you still

and don't forget all your cyber chums, who are here to support you and cheer you on

who will offer you compassion and donate a dash of courage should you need it

(crikey, I hope that doesn't sound gloomy! it wasn't meant to. . .)

lots of hugs, dear man
